Fundraising and Donations
Even if you take every possible safety precaution, disaster can strike at any moment. When that happens, you can always count on the volunteers of VMR. Can we count on you?
VMR Mornington and Hastings units respond to hundreds of taskings of marine incidents a year.
Our members also participated in over 50 training exercises.
With 50 members and 3 vessels, the resources made available to VMR are considerable and the contribution of our volunteers significant (about 5,000 volunteer hours per year.)
VMR receives partial funding from the Government. These funds are greatly appreciated but funds are also required to raise the additional contributions needed to maintain its rescue services, keep its units equipped with the proper search and rescue equipment and to train its members to save lives at sea.
By contributing to VMR, individuals, clubs, societies, trusts and companies can help us save more lives.
There are a number of ways that VMR raise the funds required to maintain the volunteer rescue service in Port Phillip & Westernport. We run Bunning’s Sausage Sizzles, Tin Rattles on Nepean Highway, Annual Trivia Nights and many other activities.
VMR never releases donors or supporters names and addresses to other organisations.
