The rescue service is proud of the fact that we have been leaders in accepting change. In fact, it would be more correct to say that we have in most instances created change through forward thinking and initiative.
We took the initiative by ordering a purpose built rescue vessel to be built to survey standard. A first for a volunteer marine rescue unit.
The service has commenced operating as VMR Mornington. VMR Victoria (formally the Marine Rescue Association) is keen to bring all volunteer marine rescue organisations under the one combined umbrella. Again, we are leading the way in Victoria.
