VMR Mornington is often called upon to assist in promotions and fund raising events.
Each year various members attend schools and give talks on the service’s function. A donation is usually received for this service.
Listed below are some of the many support roles VMR Mornington plays in a community support capacity:
- Lectures to schools on boating safety.
- Attending every school fete in a fund raising capacity for that school.
- Attending aquatic sporting events in a safety capacity.
- Participating in Shire-run events such as the Ti-Tree Festival Parade, Safety Marshall at beachside fireworks display, static displays during Emergency Services Week, Display at the Melbourne Boat Show etc.
- Safety patrols in events such as World Champion Sailing, Triathlons, or whenever we are requested to do so.
